Hey there! This is the fam. Aren’t we cute? Seriously though, these are the most beautiful humans I know. I love these folk. The hubs is Erik. He’s a wise, gentle, caring old-soul kind of guy. My partner in all things love and life. We’ve been married 6 years. We had a brief courtship (married within 6 months). We often joke that we share a brain because we think so much alike at times. Yet we differ in ways that serve to help one another. Where I tend to be weakest he’s better and the same is true of him. It sounds cliché but I really did marry my best friend.
The pretty girl is Miss Amirah. She’s my artsy extrovert. I love watching her draw. Her latest works are mandalas which I think are incredible. She dances, writes, and is quite the little baker. Our family began with just me and her. We have a special bond through God’s love and grace in many ways. She is not only my daughter but my baby sister as well. She came to me at 5 days old and instantly I knew that she would be mine forever. We prayed together for God to send a special man to be husband and daddy and we share an answered prayer. We are beginning another new journey together through homeschooling. Neither of us could have imagined it but it’s a reality and it’s good. We’re both learning and experiencing grace from each other.
This little chunk-a-roonie here is the baby Bubba. He has so many nicknames it’s hard to keep track so don’t even try. If you see a silly name somewhere just know I’m referring to the boy, lol. This is our Foster, as in name not station. People have often asked how/why we chose his name. Well we named him Foster because it means to nurture, to strengthen, and to encourage growth. We believe it’s a name that will shape who he becomes. And also we just think it’s smooth. Like a Spike Lee’s movie character name. It’ll be remembered and respected. He’s a year old now and his personality is displaying him to be a humorous, compassionate little guy. I can’t wait to see who he becomes each day.
I can’t believe that I have the privilege to love and serve these people. I’m grateful that I get to gush all about them to whomever will listen so, thank you so much for reading! Be blessed and see you around the blog.
Grace & Peace,
