Add dry uncooked rice, olive oil, chicken stock base or bullion cubes, tomato paste, fresh cilantro, and spices to a pot and blend until well coated. Turn on the heat to medium-low and allow the seasoned rice to warm through for 2-3 minutes stirring constantly.
Pour in the water and turn the heat up to medium-high to bring the pot to boil. Then turn the heat to simmer and allow the rice to cook according to the rice package instructions.
For even quicker preparation this recipe can be made in the microwave. Simply follow all of Step 1 using a covered microwave-safe dish. Then add the water as in Step 3 and microwave according to the rice package instructions.
