Ingredients

  • 2/3 c popcorn kernels or 10 cups popped
  • 1/2 c salted butter
  • 1 c dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 c sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  • Using an air popper, pop kernels and set aside in a large mixing bowl
  • Over low heat, place heavy saucepan and add butter, sugar, condensed milk, and salt
  • Allow ingredients to melt slightly and begin to stir them together
  • Bring to a boil and add vanilla, stirring well
  • Set timer for 5 minutes and allow sugars to thicken without stirring
  • After 5 minutes add baking soda and stir briskly for 1 minute
  • Turn off heat and pour caramel over the popped corn
  • Using a large spoon or spatula, toss the popcorn until evenly coated
  • Spread evenly onto baking tray(s) and allow to cool for about 1 hour
  • Once cooled, break into pieces and enjoy!
