Ingredients

  • 2 6 oz cans tomato paste
  • 1 3/4 c water
  • 1/4 c olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepot over low heat add butter, olive oil, tomato paste, and sugar stirring thoroughly
  • Add spices and parmesan to tomato mixture 
  • Stirring constantly, add water; simmer for 5 minutes
