Preheat the oven to 350°. Whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda and set aside. Cream the butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl until fluffy. Follow by beating in the egg and almond extract. Mix the flour into the creamed butter.
Using a cookie scoop, shape mounds of cookie dough into balls. Roll the dough balls into the sliced almonds. Place the dough onto a cookie sheet and bake for 11 minutes. Cool on a rack before serving.
