In a bowl, whisk together the tomato paste and olive oil until slick. In a mortar and pestle and the parmesan and spices to ground finely. Add the spices with the water to the bowl and whisk until smooth. If you opt-out of crushing the spices, simply add them to the bowl whole and whisk as noted.
Add the water and oil to the blender cup first so that the paste does not stick to the bottom. Follow by adding the spices, parmesan cheese, and tomato paste before blending until smooth. This will make the sauce closer to the texture of pasta sauce but the flavors are more concentrated and delicious.
