Buttermilk Ranch Ingredients

dried cultured buttermilk

Buttermilk powder– You can find dried buttermilk in the baking aisle of most grocery stores or from Amazon (affil link).
Dried parsley
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Dried dill
Kosher salt
Black pepper

Every ranch seasoning recipe has a combination of the same basic ingredients by not all include buttermilk powder. Adding dried buttermilk powder to the seasoning blend eliminates the need for liquid buttermilk when preparing ranch recipes.

Other uses for dried buttermilk

You can use dried buttermilk in DIY pancake mix, waffles, biscuits, and pretty much any recipes calling for liquid buttermilk. Don’t worry about wasting any. Check out this Make-Ahead Cornbread Mix using dried buttermilk powder from Make-Ahead Meal Mom.

Instructions

ranch seasoning in a nutribullet

The best way to make any seasoning blend is to process all of the ingredients in a spice grinder. I use my NutriBullet (affil link) with the 4-blade attachment to grind the spices into a fine powder. This concentrates and intensifies the flavors by making it into a cohesive powder. In turn, a more concentrated blend uses less.
