Making my own salad dressing has been so liberating.I hated going to the fridge expecting to find my favorite dressing, only to find that someone has finished the last of it and failed to inform me. I’ll admit that I still will pick up a bottle of dressing now and again for convince but I don’t care if they tell me that it’s run out or not. When I’m ready for the best dressing, I just whip up a batch of my own.
What you need to make creamy Italian salad dressing
Italian dressing seasoning mix
Red wine vinegar
Cracked black pepper
This recipe is straight to the point. I’m using prepared Italian Dressing Seasoning for most of the flavor and prepared mayonnaise as the creamy base. I like the addition of the fresh garlic cloves because you can really taste it in the dressing, but you can substitute it with about a teaspoon of garlic powder. As for the parmesan cheese, I use this powdered shelf kind but please use freshly grated if you have it.
How to make the best creamy Italian salad dressing
To a food processor or blender, add the mayo, olive oil, garlic cloves, parmesan, black pepper, and Italian dressing seasoning.
Next, pour in the red wine vinegar and blend until smooth. Pour the dressing into a container for serving. Refrigerate in an airtight jar for up to one week.

- 0.7 oz Italian dressing seasoning packet
- 1 c mayo
- ⅓ c red wine vinegar
- ¼ tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves or more if you like garlic I use 4
- 2 tbsp parmesan cheese powdered
- ½ tsp cracked black pepper optional
- To a food processor or blender, add the mayo, olive oil, garlic cloves, parmesan, black pepper, and Italian dressing seasoning. Blend until smooth. Pour the dressing into a container for serving. Refrigerate in an airtight jar for up to one week.
