A dessert-inspired smoothie with a fraction of the calories. This delicious sweet potato pie smoothie is a delightful fall treat.
I’m kind of obsessed with sweet potatoes and the fall season. They are sort of synonymous to me. Naturally, I buy them in abundance and create delicious recipes with them. I’ve been crafting dessert-inspired smoothies with fewer calories. Enjoy this delightful treat with fewer calories than a slice of pie.
Easy to Make Sweet Potato Pie Smoothie
A handful of ingredients is all you need to make it. You can use frozen or defrosted mashed sweet potato; frozen makes it colder. I used unfrozen for this recipe, fat-free Greek yogurt, almond milk, pumpkin pie spice, and date paste to sweeten.
Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
How to Freeze Sweet Potatoes for Smoothies
First, cook and mash the sweet potatoes before freezing. Next, I use a measuring cup for the preferred portion sizes then place the scoops into a muffin tin before freezing.
Pop them out and into a plastic freezer bag.

I made a sweet potato pie smoothie using vanilla and although it was good it still seemed like something was missing. I’m going to try the pumpkin spice. I think that might do the trick. Thanks!
