Sazón Seasoning is a wonderful all-purpose spice blend used in many Latin recipes. This homemade version is easy to make using simple pantry ingredients.

Saźon seasoning on a plate

Sazón Seasoning is the foundational spice mix used in Hispanic dishes. This homemade version is a knockout success not only because it tastes amazing in recipes but because it also passes on the big fat dose of MSG found in most store brands. This homemade version skips the MSG but still delivers a wallop of flavor.

Recipes that use Sazón seasoning

Sazón is the spice for that gives the chicken in my Puerto Rican Chicken and Rice recipe all the flavor. This blend can be used to season beef, pork, or poultry. It even tastes amazing in beans and rice recipes as well.

How to make and use Sazón seasoning

To make this spice blend, I usually put them into my Nutribullet (affil link) and grind it into a fine powder. You can use an electric spice grinder if you have it or a mortar and pestle (affil link). To use the seasoning, sprinkle 2-3 teaspoons per pound of meat or beans.

This stuff is good. So I bought a large family size of Goya Sazón before I found this site over a year ago. Ive made this mix several times and gifted it to my girls who are just now starting married lives or anyone who really like the recipes Ive made from this site. The store bought one is still sitting in my pantry LOL.
